Microsoft is offering free copies of Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2005, and Windows 2003 Server STD Edition to qualifying students.

On April 30th I completed the online validation process as a UC Berkeley student (I listen to the lecture podcasts), but I skipped the required part where I email or fax in documentation to support my claim of UC Berkeley Student status.

Three weeks later, after the deadline to submit the documentation had passed, my student status was confirmed anyways.

End result – Free legitimate keys for the major Microsoft products.

I originally setup the Geeklog software in late 2005, but became disappointed with it when new feature development stalled shortly after February 2006. Once I realized there would not be any more major updates to the Geeklog platform, my site pretty much died from neglect. Hopefully this software upgrade will motivate me to contribute content again.
